Cheeseburger in Paradise 2008!

The 2008 Cheeseburger in Paradise Party was on July 3 and is an annual event that takes place on Fiddle Cay Abaco, Bahamas. The party is a celebration of the music of Jimmy Buffet and draws Parrotheads from all over the world to a small uninhabited island near Green Turtle Cay Abaco, Bahamas.

The event is sponsored every year by an airline pilot from Miami who lives on the houseboat "Stranded Naked" at Green Turtle Cay.

The party is free to anyone who can get there and this year they gave away

- 100 Gallons of Margaritas

- 100 gallons of Rum Punch

- 1200 Cheeseburgers

Now that is how to throw a party!!!

This is the bar where they mix margaritas and rum punch in 50 gallon plastic cans and then just dip pitchers full and pour into cups full of ice.

This is where they cooked and gave away 1,200 cheeseburgers this year!

There was never a wait for drinks, but the cheeseburger line got a little bit out of control. It was easy to drink 3 or 4 drinks while you were in line for the cheeseburger in paradise that you came all this way to get!

This Parrot Head started drinking a little to early and a little to fast!

Some old sailing friends of mine, John and Cheryl, who have been sailing over from west Florida to attend the Cheeseburger in Paradise Parties since the very first one.

The beach was lined with dingies from all the sailboats that were anchored out in deeper water.

This "slack line" rope was set up under the trees in the shade and provided a lot of entertainment watching everyone give it a try. There was only one guy there who could walk from one end to the other and back without falling.

I think this Cuban Couple from Miami thought they were going to the Mardi Gras!

A few future Parrot Heads were also at the party.

Every good party should have a "Rasta Boat".

As Jimmy Buffet said in a famous song, "Why don't we get drunk and screw".
