Vacation in the Bahamas, Crystal Clear Water, Beautiful Beaches!
Bahamas-Pictures-Photos.com was created from my family's experiences of 30 years living and sailing in the beautiful waters of the Bahamian islands. I had the dream of sailing away to the islands many years ago and was fortunate enough to live my dream.
Today, you can use my family's experiences from many years living and sailing in the beautiful waters of the Bahamas as a guide for planning
your own dream vacation. My wife Sarah, daughter Amanda Mar, son Cody Rio and I invite you to visit our gallery of photos to view pictures of some of the most beautiful places we have seen and things we have experienced over the years.

The pristine waters, magnificent beaches, and friendly people have made the islands
one of the premier vacation destinations in the world. Located a mere 60 miles east of the coast of Florida
and extending for hundreds of miles down to the Caribbean, the islands are easily accessible as many flights
arrive daily from the US and Europe.

The weather in the islands is perfect most of the year but can be very dynamic and unstable during the hurricane season of August, September and October. I have been in several hurricanes including one with my family at our house on the island of Great Abaco. That storm blew over 80 Miles per hour, and after it passed my 8 year old son Cody was disappointed when the wind started to subside as he was having fun helping me secure the house and our boats which were in the water.

Christopher Columbus was the first tourist to discover the islands when he landed on the island of San Salvador in 1492. The Spaniards named the large area of islands and shallow waters "Baja Mar", or low sea, which eventually became the Bahamas. The 500 year history of the Baja Mar is very colorful and diverse, filled with French settlers, British loyalists, Spanish Dons, English Lords, Pirates and Rogues.

There are many different ways to visit the wonderful watery world of the Bahamas. From the fabulous 5 star resorts and small guest houses to the many vacation rental homes that are scattered throughout the Family Islands. Whatever your choice, you will be rewarded with memories, stories and dreams that will last a lifetime.
